The Universal Language

If you haven't seen this floating around on Facebook yet, watch it because it is powerful.

"Giving is the Best Communication"

Since love grows within you, so beauty grows.
For love is the beauty of the soul.-Saint Augustine

Yesterday I said I believe that love is the universal language and that when you are cruel to someone, you lose the ability to communicate with them, or you send the wrong message that can affect their life in a negative way.  On the contrary, nonverbal communication like this video; it has the ability to move people in ways we can't foresee.

If you think about Jesus, you don't see giant churches with a bunch of finger pointing and name calling, that was not who he was.  You see Jesus as poor man with his hand held out, reaching for that woman at the well, that gay man being persecuted, that little boy stealing medicine for his mother.  This video is a good example of what I was saying yesterday, when I spoke about not judging.  Satan already has the non-believers, he is after you as a believer and if you believe as I do, you believe that you are held to a higher standard than someone who has no idea what love, forgiveness and grace is.  If you fear the sinner and persecute people who have not been saved, then you are not doing your job as a Christian.  You don't win them or save them by shoving your views down their throats or telling them why they are bad or enforcing YOUR rules from YOUR church on them.  Don't oppress them.  Treat them like birds with wings and show them why they shouldn't fly away in another direction, don't cage them.  Don't isolate them.  You will lose in the end, and the devil will win them.  That isn't what Jesus asked of us when he died. He said love thy neighbor.

I have posted this before, but I am posting it again.  It's so true for children, but I think it goes for adults as well.

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.
